This project is an intervention limited to replacing the roof and exterior joinery of the rear building. Yet it solves many pain points in one move and the result is huge.
The typical 1970s roof consisting of a cascade of 45° domes and flat roofs was replaced by a large, slightly sloping roof that incorporates in also the small extension behind the kitchen and also creates a covered terrace. In this way, the width of the house is re-emphasised and the rear extension-kitchen is connected into a whole.
Glazed sections in the new roof provide light in the core of the house.
