Verzoening
On a small corner plot of 78 m2 that had been undeveloped for 15 years, a spacious single-family house is being built. The constraints of a corner plot are used as boundary conditions and define the spatial cross-section of the house. A simple structure defines the plan: two parallels to the separation walls create the rooms. The remaining wedge at the corner generates something extra each time: a spacious entrance, an oversized night hall, transition between the living spaces. The large facade area and roof terraces try to compensate for the lack of a garden: when the guillotine windows are open, an indoor outdoor feeling is created at the corner. The classical stacking is reversed so that the living spaces are related to the roof terraces and can take maximum pleasure from the south-west orientation. The façade and use of carbon brick is an interpretation of the former factory buildings across the street and a translation of the structure.
