A watchtower for the Tuinen van Stene, a laboratory for innovative agriculture and agricultural education and a place for nature development relaxation, will be planted at the head of the area: on the border between polder landscape and shopping ribbon. The tower forms a resting point on the cycle route running behind it, and forms a meaningful place that people come back to. The language of the structure links up both with the industrial architecture of the Steenweg and with the greenhouse architecture found in the Tuinen. The landscape runs through it. Only the stairwell is visible, an opal cylinder that makes the walk up closed and the views on the platforms surprising. The tower contains 3 different levels: a terrace, a ring and a viewing platform. Each level has its own shape and a specific experience.
